Forest House

The former UWV office (Employee Insurance Agency) at Prinses Beatrixtraat in Hengelo had been empty for over 8 years. With the redevelopment of the office building into a residential building, the potential of the building and the location are fully utilized and a welcome contribution has been made to the housing stock in Hengelo. This project was realized with special attention for reuse, sustainability and affordability. The apartments are designed for one- and two-person households and often have their own outdoor space. In addition, there are collective facilities such as a communal garden, bicycle shed and carports with solar panels.

House on a House

In the Bomenbuurt; a 1930’s neighbourhood in The Hague located between the centre of The Hague and the beach, the founder of Bloot Architecture designed and helped build a roof extension for his family on top of their existing apartment.

East West House

In the East West house, different worlds come together in rich pallet of materials and textures. The new heart of the house has formed under the large skylight in the extension of the house. The absence of a clear function for this space enriches the design.

Solitair

In Lelystad, a retired couple's detached house was renovated and provided with an extension, so that everything is now on one level and the house is suitable for lifelong living. The building has the solitary character of a garden house, because it is attached to the existing house like a peninsula. From the existing house, you walk through a lock-like passage to a new world. Here you have the feeling that you are staying in the middle of the garden as in a room in nature.

Bloot Architecture Architecture office BNA

Bloot Architecture, a The Hague based architectural office, was founded in 2010 by architect Tjeerd Bloothoofd (1982). With great pleasure and dedication, we are constantly looking for the concept and the language of form that unites the function, context, topicality and wishes of the client in an exciting, sustainable and integral design that appeals to the development of self-awareness and the freedom of choice of life.
